We love this soft cover collection of early Russian Science Fiction. Translated by Leonid Kolesnikov and published by the Foreign Languages Publishing House Moscow in 1960.

Contains – The Astronaut by Valentina Zhuravlyova; Over the Abyss by Alexander Belayev; The Maxwell Equations by Anatoly Duieprov; The Valley of the Four Crosses by Igor Zabelin; The Golub-Yavan by Kirill Stanyukovich; Flying Flowers by Mikhail Vasilyev and Destination Amaltheia by Arkady and Boris Strugatisky.

Nice condition and we like the portraits and biography placed on a foldout front and back cover.

A beautiful and scarce hand coloured double “Pochoir” by Charles Martin (1884-1934) for the Paris Gazette du Bon Ton published in September 1920. “Let Jardin de L’Infante”.

A beautiful evening gown by designer Paul Poiret . It consists of a bodice and a full skirt in white satin lined with black satin. The skirt opens to a white gauze; and a black satin ribbon bow falls before.

Beaulieu Dans Les Fleurs – Robert Bonfils – 1920

A beautiful pochoir with hand-applied colour by artist Robert Bonfils (1886-1972) for the Paris Gazette du Bon Ton published in 1920.

Bonfils produced a rich painterly finished that mad his work unique with Gazette du Bon Ton. This example is one of only two vertical double images available in the whole collection.

Two dresses and a coat for the afternoon. The red dress is charming, with a lace front, the black and white spiked ribbon dress with matching satin bodice and the beautiful diallaine coat with large fur collar.

Rose-Coloured Spoon-Bill – Shaw and Nodder – 1792

An original copper engraved and hand coloured image of the beautiful and elegant rose-coloured spoon-bill also known as the Roseate Spoonbill. It was published by Shaw and Nodder in London on 1st January 1792.

A native of South America it is much more colourful than the common spoonbill and by the time it reaches maturity its colour deepens almost to a rich scarlet.

George Shaw was in charge of Natural History at the British Museum. Nodder was a natural history artist and worked for Banks on his Florilegium.

Framed in Voyager Natural History style in black cored cream mat and gilt frame.

Map of South Australia – John Tallis – 1851

An original John Tallis decorative map of South Australia.

Tallis maps are famous for there interesting images here of Adelaide, Natives on a Catamaran (?), Dingo or Australian Dog and the Nymphicus (Cockatiel) drawn by Warren and engraved by Rodger.

The map was engraved by John Rapkin who did all of the Australian maps in the series. This is a good original of an early Tallis map and a must for any Australian map collection.
